A bit of sunshine and prayer walks in Paris!

Hello there from YWAM Paris!

With sunshine and warm weather, the city of Paris comes to life! God has put on our hearts to venture out on prayer walks around the city, specifically in our neighborhood Belleville.  We have made it a challenge to not pray in English on our prayer walks, but to use these times of prayer to practice the French language. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

Last Thursday we had our first French Prayer Walk. It was a challenge to pray in French, but we strategically split up into pairs of two and made sure that one person had more French knowledge then the other so we could all learn new French words. One of our staff made cute little cards with helpful French prayer phrases and tips! It really helped, especially for the beginner French speakers! Lovely enough, God had brought out the sun that day and so when we started our march across our neighborhood we were warm and all smiles!

Throughout the walk God highlighted different things like the families, the art, the little book stores and people laughing and sitting at cafés. We felt led to pray for family relationships, and for God to draw family’s closer to each other. We also prayed for the youth to have places to express themselves and grow, like skate parks and sports and art centers. Some of us went into shops and prayed over the odd things the stores would sell so that the people who bought it would be blessed!

It’s a different contrast to pray in French then in English, it’s easy to hide what we are speaking and praying in English because not everyone speaks English. But when we pray blessing over something or someone in French all ears around us can hear and understand!

God really showed us the value of the prayer walks and we will continue doing them every week! We will look forward to sharing more with you guys on what God shows us and for helpful things for you to pray a long with us!

À la prochaine!
