Calling all Students!

As I begin typing this there are 101 days 10 hours and 1 minute until February 14, 2011 and the beginning of the DTS in Paris. I am blessed to be in contact with our students and potential students. I love getting to know them even now! I thank God every day for fabulous technology we have that instantly bridges the thousands of miles between us and our students.

So, dear students, we love you. We pray for you daily. We are anxiously awaiting your arrival, and we know God has amazing things in store for each one of you. It is a privilege for us to be a part  of your lives. We commend you for setting this time aside to seek after God with your whole heart. During these months leading up to the DTS, take time to enjoy your friends and family. Share your heart with those around you so that they may understand the call God has placed upon your life and support you in that. When you face struggles, don’t be discouraged. Instead, as James 1:2-3 says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” Those who are doing God’s will will face opposition. Don’t let this stop you. When you have questions, concerns, prayer requests, or good news, let us know! We are here for you.

To those who are interested in the DTS but have not contacted us, don’t hesitate to get in touch! I rejoice at the opportunity to answer emails from people inquiring about the DTS. I am happy to answer your questions and pray for you. And a simple email doesn’t sign you up for the school; there’s no pressure! Our desire is that you find the place where God is calling you, whether that be Paris or elsewhere. But if it is Paris, don’t feel that Paris is not a place for missions. There is great need in Paris for people to come and share God’s love with the city. It may be called the city of light, but there is much darkness here. If God is calling you, come! You have 101 days 9 hours and 5 minutes (did it really take me an hour to write this?) to get your application in, but the sooner the better.
